NDIS Specialist Support Coordination in Perth, WA

Specialist Support Coordination – also known as Level 3 Support Coordination – is the highest level of NDIS support designed to assist participants with complex needs. Able WA is currently in the process of becoming a registered NDIS provider. While our registration is being finalized, we are still able to deliver Specialist Support Coordination services to participants who are plan-managed or self-managed.

Our experienced team of specialist support coordinators works with participants across Perth and Western Australia to help overcome barriers, stabilize complex situations, and ensure supports are delivered consistently.

What is Specialist Support Coordination?

Specialist Support Coordination (Level 3) is an intensive service funded in some NDIS plans for participants with complex or high-risk needs.

A Specialist Support Coordinator:

  • Helps reduce barriers that stop you from accessing supports.
  • Designs a comprehensive support plan that brings together multiple services and agencies.
  • Coordinates across NDIS-funded services, health, housing, justice, or community systems.
  • Provides crisis planning and response when situations escalate.
  • Ensures your supports remain consistent and reliable, even during major changes.

This higher level of coordination is only funded when standard coordination isn’t enough – and it requires skilled professionals who understand complex environments.

Who Might Need Specialist Support Coordination?

You may benefit from a Specialist Support Coordinator if you:

  • Have multiple or severe disabilities needing support from a wide range of providers and government systems.

  • Experience significant life challenges or crises, such as unstable housing, family breakdown, or high-risk behaviours.

  • Have persistent barriers that have prevented your plan from being put into action.

  • Need time-limited intensive support to address urgent or high-risk issues.

What Does a Specialist Support Coordinator Do?

Our Specialist Support Coordinators in Perth:

  • Manage complex cases – liaising with multiple providers, agencies, and systems on your behalf.

  • Problem-solve barriers – for example, helping you find services in regional WA, or negotiating when providers have withdrawn.

  • Plan and respond to crises – stabilising urgent situations and coordinating emergency supports.

  • Advocate for your rights – working with health, housing, or justice systems to ensure your needs are met.

  • Ensure consistency – maintaining your supports even when circumstances change suddenly.

Specialist vs Standard Support Coordination

It can help to understand the difference between Level 2 and Level 3:

  • Level 2 Support Coordination (Coordination of Supports): Assists you to connect with services, monitor your plan, and build capacity. Suits most participants with moderate needs.

  • Level 3 Specialist Support Coordination: For participants with complex or high-risk situations requiring expert coordination, crisis planning, and cross-system advocacy.

Able WA delivers both Level 2 and Level 3 coordination, tailoring our approach to your individual circumstances.
